According to Jim Parker, sports writer for The Windsor Star covering the OHL’s Windsor Spitfires, Habs prospect Brady Vail will join the Hamilton Bulldogs this Tuesday. Vail’s season ended on Sunday as Windsor did not qualify for a playoff spot. However, Vail hit a new career high in points this season with 55 (20 goals, 35 assists).
Vail is a two-way centre who is also capable of slotting into a defenceman position if needed. Windsor used him in that role a number of times throughout the year. The Bulldogs will be able to use Vail in plenty of ways as he does have a bit of an offensive side to his game, but is more known for his excellent defensive play. He is likely to be signed to an amateur try-out contract to not waste a year of an entry-level deal and he is committed to another OHL season.
The Canadiens drafted Brady Vail in the 4th round, 94th overall in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
March 18th: Vail was officially signed to an ATO with the Bulldogs for the rest of the season.
