Tomas Plekanec was absent from the morning skate in Winnipeg. As a result, the lines were switched around a bit.

Pat Hickey confirmed that Plekanec would be a game-time decision.

Assuming Plekanec does not play tonight, Brian Flynn will take on the second line center role. As of right now, the team’s top three centres are Phillip Danault, Brian Flynn and Torrey Mitchell. At the start of the season, these three players were all on the fourth line together. To see the three of them spread out in the top nine shows how much depth (or lack thereof) the team currently has down the middle.

Although these four centres aren’t the most offensively capable, they are reliable defensive centres who can take on any tough defensive assignments.

Furthermore, Al Montoya will start in net tonight.

The puck drops at the MTS arena in Winnipeg at 7:30PM EST.
