Montreal Canadiens: 2014 Offseason Recap

The 2014 offseason for the Canadiens started on May 29th, following their 1-0 loss to the Rangers in Game 6. GM Marc Bergevin and his staff have had to make multiple decisions regarding the organization since that date. This includes the draft, signing players, letting players go, trades and so on. We will now take a look at what has occurred since the playoffs.

The Draft (June 27-28)

Round 1, 26th overall: Nikita Scherbak
Round 3, 73rd overall: Brett Lernout (Canadiens traded #87 & #117 to Arizona for #73)
Round 5, 125th overall: Nikolas Koberstein (From NYI, Vanek trade)
Round 5, 147th overall: Daniel Audette
Round 6, 177th overall: Hayden Hawkey
Round 7, 207th overall: Jake Evans

The Traded

June 14th – Louis Leblanc dealt to Anaheim Ducks in exchange for a conditional fifth round pick (2015)
June 30th – Daniel Brière dealt to Colorado Avalanche in exchange for PA Parenteau and a fifth round pick (2015)
July 1st – Josh Gorges dealt to Buffalo Sabres in exchange for a second round pick (2016)
