12 IceCaps pick up a point dropping a 3-2 decision in overtime to Bridgeport in front of 3608 fans at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport Ct.
Justin Vaive beats Zach Fucale five hole at 13:36 of the opening frame putting the Sound Tigers up 1-0 with assists going to Ben Holmstrom and Kyle Burroughs.
Less than two minutes later Max Friberg scores on a two-on-one break to tie at one with assists going to Gabriel Dumont and Michael Bournival.
Sven Andrighetto scores a four-on-four goal at 5:19 of the second to put the IceCaps up 2-1 with assists going to Daniel Carr and Ryan Johnston.
Andrew Rowe picks up a loose puck in front of the net and buries it on the power play at 13:29 of the middle frame tying the game 2-2 with helpers going to Ryan Pulock and Alan Quine.
The third period would be a scoreless affair with St. John’s outshooting them 14-6.
With just twenty one seconds left in the overtime the IceCaps turn the puck over and Taylor Beck scores to end the game with the lone helper going to Bracken Kearns.
Zach Fucale stopped 25 of 28 in a losing cause while J.F. Berube would stop 38 of 40 to get the win. Final score: 3-2 Sound Tigers.
