Habs Daily Recap: March 18th

The Canadiens had morning practice Monday morning ahead of their game against the Sabres on Tuesday. Per Machabee, Raphael Diaz did a little running and stretching exercises but did not participate in training in the gym with the team. As for Diaz, Bourque and Weber, they were back on the ice but on the second surface; not with the team. Michael Ryder returned to practice with the team and should be back in the line up against Buffalo.

The Kamloops Blazers handed out their season awards prior to the final home game of the regular season on Friday. Habs prospect Tim Bozon won the Plus/Minus award.

The Anaheim Ducks locked up Corey Perry to an 8-year extension. The rumours for him being moved at deadline or hitting free agency have now been put to rest. However, with the money committed to Perry and Getzlaf, the Ryan rumours have begun again. The Ducks will have to make some moves to fill up their roster for next season and stay under the new cap.

The Bulldogs officially announced that they inked prospect Brady Vail to an amateur try-out contract for the rest of the season. Even though Vail is committed to the OHL next year, this pro hockey experience will be very helpful to his development.

Prospect Update:

  • Nygren recorded two assists and a +2 rating
  • Přibyl was a -1
