2016 World Juniors: Day Six

The last day of the preliminary round saw Russia claim Group B with a victory over Slovakia in Hartwall Arena. Next, the tournament moved to the Helsinki Ice Hall where the United States won 4-1 over Denmark. With this win, the U.S. earned second in the group and Canada fell to third. The host Finland defeated the Czech Republic 5-4 in the third game of the day in front of a large crowd of over 12,000. To end off the day, Sweden’s 5-2 win over Canada made Sweden the only team undefeated in regulation. As the preliminary round ends, Switzerland and Belarus will battle it out in the relegation round as the other eight teams in the tournament head to the Quarterfinals.
